Mr. Rajiv Kumar Paul the originator of M/S Bawarchi, initiated his journey from Hindusthan Concern and he took over the legacy to a new arena of modern multi-cuisine restaurant to embark on the livelihood of food lovers. Enlarging on new thoughts and ideas, the Young entrepreneur Mr. Paul began to fulfill his dreams with modern traditional food dinning. He has always believed that “The Key secret to success is based on D-4 formula which includes dedication, determination, discipline and devotion” and without all these four components one can never achieve any success. In the early stage, Mr. Paul started with a range of fast food items in a small outlet located at Jadavpur CIT market complex, in competition with the best restaurants in Kolkata for dinner and with an intention to attract the young crowd studying at Jadavpur University and other residents in the nearby area.

In the initial days of inception, the restaurant created a revolution on varieties of rolls, offering best Indian dishes in Kolkata. The outlet also achieved an exposure in Hindusthan Times under the title of “ROLL REVOLUTION IN CALCUTTA”, for providing the best rolls in Kolkata.

Eventually, when the small fast food outlet started running amicably amongst the city dwellers of Kolkata, Mr. Paul decided to expand the small outlet into a Fine-Dining Restaurant, with an intention to deliver best food in Kolkata, where the customer could sit and enjoy their food blissfully, with a service on demand of the customers.

 

Our History


“BAWARCHI” the very word is related to cooking a variety of foods for the Food-lovers. The word “Bawarchi “ known for its best biriyani in Kolkata emanated during the reign of Mughal emperor Babar. Following the historical trend, we offer Mughlai cuisine with a simple-basis title & concept of multi-cuisine fine dining in Kolkata.

Our restaurant flashed up in South Calcutta at Jadavpur in the year 1999, on the auspicious day of “Mahalaya” that marks the beginning of the biggest celebratory festival for Bengalis “Durga Puja”. Fortunately, it defines the birthday of BAWARCHI in the city of joy, Kolkata.

Our fine dining restaurant is incorporated under the shelter of Hindusthan concern. Hindusthan concern which began its journey under the roof of “Hindusthan sweets” and it is a revolutionary name in the hygienic sweets in West Bengal as well as in Eastern parts of India, under the guardianship of Sri Rabindra Kumar Paul.

In the next generation, the traditional restaurant business was taken over by Mr. Rajiv Kumar Paul, the most eminent successor of Sri Rabindra Kumar Paul. He made certain changes in the authentic business and replaced it with a modern thought of Fast Food Restaurant that was appreciated by all stratified customers, one of the best eating place in Kolkata.

Soon after the food revolution was geared up by Rajiv Kumar Paul, the offered items by the dining restaurant achieved huge fame in Kolkata. Within two years of impeccable service and growing popularity, the restaurant became one of the best restaurant in Kolkata with several subsidiary branches at Netajinagar, Santoshpur, Ajoynagar, Golpark, Gariahat, Patuli, Baghajatin, Saltlake, Sealdah, and many more other areas.

Compelled by the rising demand of customers, we expanded our business to well beyond the area of inception and new branches at Agartala, Tripura have appreciated such expansion.

“Bawarchi” continues to expand, with “POSTO”, “BHOOTER RAJA DILO BOR”“BELLAGIO”, “THE NEST CAFÉ”, and “Momose” being their flagships. We have always tried to blend all the flavors and cuisines, from Indian curries to continental savories, from Bengali delicacies to a lighter noted coffee and snacks.

In this era of food and services, Bawarchi provides CATERING SERVICES, with fine dining in Kolkata for different events. In this platform of catering services in south Kolkata, Bawarchi introduced multi-cuisine foods, based on customer preferences and fondness of the event.
